FERNANDINA BEACH, August 6, 2019 – Amelia River Cruises & Charters has just changed their hours to 9am – 7pm daily and the Family Friendly Sunset Tour is now departing at 7:00pm. The Adult Twilight BYOB Cruise time has changed as well, to 6:30pm. Amelia River Cruises is now offering three to five cruises every day of the week. History and nature tours as well as BYOB cruises depart from 1 N Front Street in downtown Fernandina Beach.

 

Adult Twilight BYOB Cruises are a local favorite and include live music on every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening as well as on the Sundays of long weekends like Labor Day weekend. This 2 hour sunset cruise is exclusively for adults 21+ and runs every Thursday, Friday & Saturday during the summer. The current departure time is 6:30pm. After Labor Day, it will change to 6:00pm and only depart on Fridays & Saturdays for the remainder of September and October.

 

Save the Date! On September 1, there will be a special 2 hour Sunday Funday Adult Twilight BYOB Cruise at 6:30pm for Labor Day weekend. Live music will be provided by Larry LeMier as we cruise around enjoying the sunset and the scenery together. Larry plays a variety of classics tunes on the guitar that you’ll find yourself singing along with, by artists such as Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Neil Young, The Allman Brothers, Bob Segar, The Band, Van Morrison, Lynard Skynard and many others.

 

Family Friendly Sunset Tours offer a relaxing way for the whole family to enjoy the sunset and hear an abbreviated history of the area. These 1 hour tours currently run every day at 7:00pm and the departure time will change to 6:30pm after Labor Day.

Shrimping Eco Tours explore the Tiger Basin, which is part of the St. Mary’s RiverBasin. Captain Kevin McCarthy shares the fascinating history of the modern shrimping industry as well as how the local supporting industries have evolved over the last century. An otter-trawl shrimp net is deployed and marine biologist Christina Ranney identifies the catch before it is released back into the tidal marsh. The two hours fly by! Shrimping Eco Tours only run in the summer; every Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10am-12pm. Beginning in September, these will only run on Saturdays.

Cumberland Island Tours offer an extensive and rich history of Cumberland and Amelia Island with views of wildlife along the way. We pass by Fernandina’s shrimp boats, historic Old Towne and Ft. Clinch to the wild horses of Cumberland Island. These enchanting 2.5 hour adventures run 10am-12:30pm every day.

The 2:30pm-4pm Beach Creek Tour is a nice blend of history and nature. It takes you literally inside Cumberland Island for a beautiful view of the salt marshes and bird life of the national park. This 1.5 hour daily tour offers a closer view of the ruins of the historic Dungeness Mansion and delves deeply into the history and people of Cumberland.

 

Adult tickets range from $22-$32 and tickets for Children 4-12 are $16-$24. Children 3 and under are free. Tickets for the Sunday Funday Adult Twilight BYOB Cruise are $32 each. Amelia River Cruises is pet-friendly and handicap accessible. The complete cruise schedule is always available online.
