Services: VITAS provides care for patients with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses and support for their family. Care is provided in patients’ homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and hospitals. VITAS services include pain management consisting of medications, medical supplies, and equipment. We also provide 24/7/365 access to Telecare (on call staff to coordinate needs after hours). VITAS coordinates inpatient and respite care, provides personal care assistance, and emotional and spiritual support for patients and family members which also includes bereavement counseling.

Provides assistance with Rent/Mortgage (must provide copy of current lease agreement), New Housing (Assistance with first month’s rent only, and the rental and electrical deposit must be paid beforehand), Utilities (first referred to other agency for assistance. If help is not available, must provide past due notice from utility company and copy of rental agreement for aid from Barnabas. Deposits and late fees are not paid).

Services: Provides home repairs that can reduce utility bills, lower energy consumption, and correct structural issues. Repairs comply with local building code standards. Programs include Weatherization (repairs to decrease gas/electric bills), Community Development Block Grant (correct issues that can threaten health, safety, and security of homeowner), State Housing Initiatives Partnership (assistance to repair homes), and Home Ownership (financial education and career development to enhance a person’s ability to own a home).
